This will be my 4th year teaching and some will say that I undoubtedly take on too much at Miami Lakes Middle but like I always say, "I do everything I do, for the kids" and they know it (soccer coach, F.E.A. advisor, cheerleading coach, I teach 6 periods, AND I'm working on my masters degree).
After 3 years of nagging my principal, he FINALLY allowed me to start up a Warrior (our mascot) Yearbook! I was thrilled when I finally got the "Ok!" and then the realization of it all hit me, no materials. Due to the fact that we haven't had a yearbook in years, there are no cameras, computers, textbooks or even curriculum. Luckily, I was an editor of my high school's yearboook and I think I am well prepared to lead these Warriors in producing a great book... BUT I need your help!
Whether print newspapers are being printed or not, journalism is still very important in our society and it is my job to teach this group of students the art of writing and photography. One never knows who may be sitting in the desks of their class; I may have a future Jackie Nespral, Robert Novak, or even Anderson Cooper. I don't know what the future holds for my students but what I do know is that every student needs to be exposed to what's out there. It'll all be made possible with your assistance.
Anything that can be donated to our project will be greatly appreciated! #MLMSWarriorPride
