As part of helping kids stay organized we use 2 inch view binders where students keep materials and resources. We very much need a supply of these as well as sheet protectors, page dividers, and wide rule line paper.
We also need a new electric pencil sharpener and other supplies such as red marking pencils, plastic 3 ring folders, notebooks, composition books, and dry erase markers. My students will also benefit greatly from up to date science and social studies books/ magazine subscriptions that meet the needs of the Common Core Standards.
As part my teaching style I like to let students interact with each other as much as possible and move around the room. I don't at all mind students standing during group or even independent activities, but as it is now our classroom furniture is not very conducive for this constant rearrangement of desk groups or students standing while they learn. I find that when they are allowed to stand and move most students are better engaged in the lesson. For these reasons my dream would be to have standing desk furniture in our 3rd grade class.
