More than half of our class is made up of students who are from non-English speaking homes; these children are in the process of learning English themselves. Our school is a high poverty public school as 78% of our student population is low income; all breakfasts and lunches are provided free for every child.
As an educator, I know what I do in the classroom impacts my students tremendously. Some of my students do not have the means to get classroom supplies and materials, so I make sure that once they enter the classroom everyone has the same tools needed to learn and succeed! I know that having the right materials makes a huge difference in helping increase a child's self-esteem, enthusiasm, motivation, and joy in learning!
We are always looking for exciting new books, classroom supplies, art supplies, paper, pencils, ink for printers, etc. If you are looking for a place to donate, please consider donating to a classroom. From my 20 students and myself, thank you.
