Located in North Minneapolis, the school has many of the characteristics of a urban school: most students are on free or reduced lunch, a large percentage of students who are homeless or highly mobile, need special education support or English language services.
There are about 120 students that I teach in my five 6th Grade Math classes.
Many of the students cannot provide their own materials for learning, so it is important that I have the necessities for learning everyday. For Math class, I need basic supplies in my classroom all school year. Examples are graph paper, pencils, markers, glue sticks, and composition notebooks. I would also like to have specific Math manipulatives to use to help students learn Math concepts in new and interesting ways. Your support will make sure students' basic learning needs are met in my Math class and help support new learning opportunities as well!
